Purpose: The purpose of Sunday Meditate is to promote holistic healing, unconditional love and a supportive community.

In 2006, I met Khalida Washington while our spouses served in the Navy. She was part of our ship's support group and showed me that friends could be family. Fittingly, I gave birth to my first daughter on her birthday, October 6! We stayed in touch over the years, and eventually, God led us both to Maryland, allowing us to reconnect.

Later, during a very dark season in my life, after a muscular dystrophy diagnosis left me feeling hopeless, Khalida was there for me. She drove long distances to bring me medicine, took me to appointments, and even invited my family over for meals. Her support lifted me up and she connected me to a positive community that changed my life.

In April 2024, Khalida passed away, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, care, and love. She inspired Sunday Meditate, which I dedicate to her memory.

I participate to continue to evolve and grow not only in my own wellness journey but to introduce others to the same opportunities.  This can allow those who are already familiar to expand on what they know and find better ways to merge meditation, breathing and wellness in different aspects of daily life.

I want to do this with people I know are passionate.   This will ensure getting trained along the way and I am open to what I can offer.  

I dedicate my work to my mom and dad.  I especially imagine that my mom could have used meditation to help with her daily pain and struggle.  I wish it had been more spoken about when she was alive 🫶🏽❤️
